Kenwood Excelon X1200M ANY FEED BACK??

Hey, I wanted to know if any one has bought the Kenwood Excelon X1200M, and if so does it over heat?? Also would like to know if it is worth buying? Would you buy MTX over kenwood?

I'd take MTX over Kenwood any day. I work with a guy who deals Kenwood and the X1200 amps we install every so often never have problems, only when people overload the impedance with the woofers. As long as you load your amplifier to it's tolerance, you shouldn't worry about overheating unless you clip the signal or it's just a defective piece of equipment.

Hey sorry to bug, but I would like to know what do you think about the Hifonics BRZ1200.1D? Out of the 3 whitch would be better performance?

1. Kenwood Excelon X1200M

2. Hifonics BRZ1200.1D

3. MTX JH1200

thanks again for your help.

I think id go with the Excelon. Hifonics seem to be what a lot of the cheap spl kids run. Cheap power, but for subs you dont need a crazy high end amp to go boom.

I bet if you popped them all open they would all look pretty similar on the inside as far as quality of components used. A lot of today's mainstream class D mono amplifiers from different companies come out of the same buildhouses in Asia.

IMO, focus your choices based on these concerns...

1) Which amp(s) fit the impedance load of your subwoofer setup?
2) Which one looks the best cosmetically?
3) Does having a bass control **** matter?
4) Is cost a factor?

You listed all good amps, and my bias will point to the MTX amplifier. But those amps all run close to the same power.
