The Work In Progress. Any thoughts?

*EDIT* I have a 2006 F-150 XLT 5.4 with Trailer/Tow Package

Okay guys one of my first posts here so, here goes. Workin on a putting a system in my truck....as most people in this forum would be. Total newb here that likes to read, learn, and then figure it out with their hands.

For the time being I'm leaving the factory speakers in my truck. IDK how much longer I'll be keeping it so for the time being, HU, AMP, and sub seem to be enough for me.

Head Unit- http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ers/FH-P8000BT

I wanted a double din and I can't do touch screens and this seemed to be right what I was looking for, and I love it in my truck

Yet to be Installed..

AMP(Came in today woo!)- http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...s/PRS-D1200SPL

Subwoofer(4 ohm)- http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU.../TS-W3002D2|D4

Now, the electrical in my truck is all currently factory. So from everything I've read I should be changing out the big 3(I believe I should be using 4awg as thats what Ill be using for my amp and sub, correct?). And I should be investing in a good HO Alt.(Anyone have a good personal recommendation on an HO who have run a system like this?)

And for a last question, should I be running two batteries for this?

Now if no one wants to answer these because theyve been previously answered, I understand. Ive been spending the last couple days scouring these forums and taking in as much as I can. Thanks a lot for any help guys. Seems to be a great crowd on this site.

You should be fine with just one battery and stock alt with what your working with. Big 3 is a good place to start to improve the grounds in your truck. Run your 4 gauge in conjunction with the stock wiring...dont replace it. Other then that you've got a good looking set up man. Love the higher end pioneer stuff.

Thanks, definitely will do. I usually try to figure things out on my own but that usually tends to cost me a fair chunk of change lol.

That headunit you chose is a great unit! I bought that for my mom's Xterra when her stock HU took a dump. I installed the microphone in the dash so it is barely even seen. The BT function works great so long as your phone can connect to it. I have always loved Pioneer stuff, they never cease to amaze me. They make good quality products for a relatively inexpensive price. One suggestion I would make to your build would be with your big 3 upgrade. If you can, go with 1/O wiring and like SunDevil2188 said, just add it to your stock wiring, don't replace your stock. I only say this because if you do decide to go bigger in time, it will be one less thing you'd have to change out. But for your amp, 4awg will work just fine.
