Help...my amp got wet.

I, like allot of you mounted my amp to 1/2" piece of mdf, then to the back wall in my SCREW. System sounded great, until I had a bunch of noise coming from the sub. Come to find out there's moisture all on my amp. We took it apart, carefully dried it out, re-assembled and re-installed. Sounded great, until we had crappy weather again......wet amp. Has anyone else heard of this? I can't see or feel moisture on anything else? I keep the windows up all the time and I can't find any leaks???

thanks

Sunroof? Rear sliding glass? Any of those could leak. Just the other day, I had water leaking out of my dome light in front of the sunroof. I have no idea. The leak stopped, but the rain didn't...thanks Oregon..lol

Edit: Is it actually water, or condensation? I see you live in Houston, which can be pretty humid. But it would take a lot of humidity to short your amp.

No to sunroof or sliding glass. Yes, very humid here in Houston. The LCD screen on the amp had a fog on it and very small water droplets inside. I put a de-humiderfier (sp) under the seat to help pull the moisture out of the air......the moisture came back.
ARRRGGHHH!!!!

+1 for the third brake light.

Mine also leaked between the hard plastic trim and the body itself, but thats on the old body style and after spending 9 years in the AZ sun

my 05 3rd brake busted 2 years ago, i got a new one. Then 5 months ago it started to leak, so i tried putting my own new liner under it to stop the leaking and thought it worked but didnt. so then i dropped $60 on a new one and fixed the problem.

what happens is the liner under the light shrinks there was a recall for this idk the details

If you touch the headliner just under the 3rd light it should be wet if it's leaking. They don't dry out that quick if it's currently raining or rained this morning.

the 3rd brake light in mine leaked on my amp and caused a set or door speakers to fry. what i did was go to a local auto glass instalation place and get them to put the black sticky tape ( i cant think of the proper name for it) they used to use to hold back glasses in cars under the lamp after it was taken off to make a new gasket. thats basically what was under there from the factory but that wasin 07 and it hasnt leaked since

hmmm wheres low-e-red now he give me a bunch of crap when i first joined 2 years ago about this sayin they dont leak and he never heard of one leaking it must have been my fault installers error.

lol sorry just brought up a memory.

The seal around the back window is known to go bad with age. I had mine replaced about a year and a half ago, and a buddy of mine had his replaced about 4 months ago. I had major leaking down the back every time it rained hard. Got my Elemental NINe.2x amp, and now its still waiting for me to send it in for repair.
