Question Mounting amps behind seat

Ok this is the frist F150 that Im mounting my amps behind the rear seat. My question is should I mount them on a amp board or can I just screw them to the parts of the back wall that stick out? Which would be better?

I think ever one has used a board. It's the smart thing to do.

I have a standard cab and the peeps that did my install just mounted to the back wall. Thats all great until you want to change something then have holes. Id mount them to a board, gives you room to be flexable and to change later with minimum holes. Im about to redo mine.

some amps dont react well to being mounted to metal....could cause floor noise.....not all amps.....some....

Every amplifier instruction manual I've read say not to mount the amp to metal, but to mount them to a board. Noise being the main reason.

usually ground loops. more than one path for ground. interference, signals, etc.. picked up through the ground..mount a metal amp to metal is like adding another ground

i mounted mine right to the cab wall. but there was the wall linig there from the factory so thats the only thing between the wall and the amp. a board would of taken up to much room for me. space was critical.

i am right there with you my amps are pretty thick but i hope once i remove the lining behind my seat i can mount mine with a thin piece of MDF or something along those lines

Well I mounted my amps to a peice of wood just used some 1/2 plywood which made it easier to mount the amps Now I have another problem the box i got out of a trade in at the dealership I work at came out of a chevy but fit prefect in my truck then I bought a Kenwood sub put it in the box and installed it in my truck and my sub sits right on the carpet. So now I have to figure out what Im going to do about that. Any suggestions?
