Old School RF Amps - Input Question
Old School RF Amps - Input Question
Hey guys,
Curious to know if anyone has run the old school Rockford Amps (400s is the one I have that I am asking about) with the high level inputs?
I currently have it in my wife's car with a PAC high/low converter to RCA, and into the amp, nothing big. I recently found the high level adapter for the amp, and didn't know if I would gain/lose anything by swapping that in place of the PAC converter?
Seems like its getting its signal from the same factory head unit, and in all my years of running Rockford Amps, I've never used the high level inputs.
Thanks in advance!

I can't see why you would loose anything. Just set the gains properly if needed and you shouldn't notice any difference at all. Personally I'd stick with the pac converter, might have less noise in the system with that.
Fair enough, thanks Impact9. I see you are just down the road from me. If I make it down your way I'll have to keep an eye out for your ride, I think it might catch my attention...haha
the higher level input will sound better... when you look for a good dvd-headunit that sounds good you want to look for one that has like 5 volts leads out to the amp.. alot of them when i was buying mine where like 2.5 volts... .. i have a JVC dvd head unit , with infinty speakers in all 4 doors run buy a candance 600 watt amp.. then i have a hifonics 1,000 watt amp running my 15 inch alpine type R... my truck flat rocks...
