Factory Speaker Wire Harness
Factory Speaker Wire Harness
I am in the process of installing an amp in 09 FX4. I was planning on using the high level inputs and running wire from each speaker. However, as I was doing a little recon before I started I found a green connecter with 8 wires coming out if it behind the panel on the passenger side below the glove box. I traced the wires and rang it out, and it looks like all of the speaker wires come from the head unit and out to the doors at this point.
If anyone is familiar with the connecter, do you know the pinout, or better yet, can I get another one. It would be nice to make my own cable that I can plug into the factory harness.

Not sure on all of the colors. A few white with orange, green, or purple lines. I rang the connector out with one of the door speakers. I guess I could check the rest of them.
I would like to get another set of the connectors and make a cable that will plug into the one from the head unit and make another cable that will plug into the one that goes out to the speakers. I am just curious if I can get the connectors anywhere other than the dealership.

I found out my dealer can get me the connectors. Unfortunately, they want about $40 per connector. I think I am going to rewire the whole thing with deutsch connectors. It will look stock, and i will be able to return it to stock easily if I ever remove the amp.
You can get the connectors for the plugs at the head unit for a bluetooth setup. Check ebay for metra connectors for blue tooth (BT-5520). That would allow you to return it to stock by removing the jumper harness.
