There has to be a decently priced 12" that would love a ported environment and can handle 2/3 of my amp. I would love any input from people that have what I am looking for. I might just go with a JL 12W7. I have heard those bad boys will give you a heart attack!
i would not go w/ a w7, jl is good but overrated IMO, check out sundown, DC, FI, RE, digital designs, there are plenty brands out there that would take a w7 out easily

Ever hook bass blockers up to AC outlet and watch them pop?

I am not claiming to know anything about amps or subs on this matter, this is only what I had perceived from what little knowledge I have on electronics.
Yes, you are missing something. Gain adjustments ***** match the output of the source component to the input sensitivity of the amp. Just because the gain **** is only turned up a third of the way does not mean you are only getting a third of the amps power. You can still get all of the amps power depending on how loud you turn up the volume **** on your head unit.

Total mobile audio has some nice amps, subs, etc.

TMA was created by a someone from rockford fos and then bought by JL.

Basically generic JL equivalents.

Bandpass boxes are no good.

Smokin sub
