Kenwood Budget Mono Amp?

I'm sure you audio pros love stupid questions like this.. but I'm curious what a fairly decent budget amp would be to power 2 Rockford Fosgate P3SD210 subs? I'm leaning towards the Kenwood KAC-9104D.. It seems to have quite a few good reviews from all of the online retailers like sonicelectronix, onlinecarstereo, and etc.. it's supposedly rated at 900w rms at 2ohm which atleast sounds good on paper..

I can pick a new one up for about $180.. which sounds like a deal to me.. what do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

I'm curious about the Rockford subs I've chosen.. they are 300w rms each, 600w max.. and I've heard that it's better to overpower than under power.. So even if the Kenwood amp isn't pushing the full 450w to each, I should still be in pretty good shape right? When I read over the Amp Power Range on Rockford Fosgates website, it says the recommended power range is between 90w-300w for the P3SD210s, which pretty much goes against everything I've read up until now.. Anyone care to explain?

You want more power on tap. You dont want your amp having to stress to push the speakers, possibly giving a clipped signal and lots of unwanted distortion. By having headroom, you will extend the life of your amplifier and it will sound cleaner. Hell look at my system. Tweeters are rated for 50 watts each and i have 100 on each. My mids are rated for 125-150 RMS each, I have 200 on them. My subwoofers are rated 300 each so 600 total and my sub amp is capable of over 1200 RMS. Now, if i gave them a full 1200 watts they would surely blow up, so you cannot just crank the gains. Be conservative with the gains and you wont have a problem. Ratings are simply a recomendation.

That amp should be fine with those subwoofers., just make sure you properly match your impedance.

cool cool.. when you say match the impedance, do you mean make sure that it's wired correctly? By making sure I'm running them on 2ohm load or whatever?
