ANyone have any comments about this amp

 

I recently bought one to run my sub. It is a good and powerful amp but I returned it for the the RF Power 500. If you do buy one of these, get the power series.... a little more money but they have a remote bass adjustment + a few other differences. FYI I am using the RF to drive a JL 12W3-D2 single in a ported box.... Yes my seat is raised 4 inches to accomodate a 1.75cf box. Massive sub response and great sq.

I'm running the same setup, but don't see how in the hell you're running a ported 12W3-D2 under the seat. Anyway, the 360A2 is badass, mine's reated at 532W at 14.2V. My only bitch, is the dual gain controls...they blow. Shoulda gotten the Power series for only $60 more.

Yeah, the ported box for the JL 12W3-d2 was a very tight fit. Surprisingly, I found the specs were 1.75 cf with a 4x 15.4" port. The seat is raised 4 inches and that allowed me to get a box of 1.87 cf.... after the driver and port was adjusted for, I ended up with about 1.55.... applied a little holofil to break up standing waves and fool the driver into seeing about 10% larger box. I run it most of the time setup for 18db slope with a 50 hz cutoff. Some music sounds better at 80 hz with a 12 db slope. I also adjust the "Q" according to what I am listening to. This sucker goes WAYEEEEEEE low and hits hard as he**...... I second guessed myself throughout the whole process of raising the seat for all this but the results were well worth it.

 

i'm pretty sure that the punch series of amps comes with the remote bass adjustments. it's like a little turn **** you mount on your dash of where ever?

 

I've got the power series 360a2 and love mine. Ratings sheet claimed 582 watts (at 2 ohms though). I wish the sheet gave the ratings at 4ohms, there's no way in hell i'm using a Fosgate amp at 2ohms; unless it's the bd series, it's not stable at 2ohms (usually). Anyway, it has the **** remote bass adjuster which is a cool and addictive toy =) Also, the power series has the dual gain controls too, Jackal up there made it sound like they didn't. They have the dual gain controls just like the punch series.

Also, if DonnyD sees this, did you get the Power 500a2 or the bd series 500.1? In either case, what was it rated at? Also did you use LMI's seat lift kit? If so how do you like it? I just ordered mine today.

Yeah, I got the Power 500@2, but if I had it to do over now, I'd have gone to the bd. Also, I did use the LMI 4inch lift kit for the rear and it worked out great. A little hassle with the install but worth it for the sub size increase.
To reply to above concerning the remote bass adjustment, the punch series does not come with it, only the power series.
