Adding amp to stock head unit?
Is it possible to ad an amp to the stock head unit? I have an Lightning witht he 6 disk changer and the tape in the dash. I want to leave the stock radio in and hook up a 4 channel amp and bridge another one for a sub. Is this going to be possible?
Thanks for any help

You have two choices, you can get an amp with high level inputs and run a line from the positive speaker wires to the amp. Or you can get an inline converter which will spliced into the speaker wires and converts them to RCA's, which would be the better of the 2 choices.
One thing to consider though. If your planning on running a 4 channel amp, I'm guessing you want to use that to power all four speakers. I would suggest that you get a 2 channel amp to just power the front speakers and get a new pair of speakers for the front, such as components. The reason I suggest this is b/c the rear speakers are behind the seats, so you won't get that much sound out of them that you can hear, plus if you add a sub behind the chairs the lows that the sub will produce will cancel out even more mids and highs so you'd get less out of the rear speakers.
I think you'd be more happy if you spend the money on a channel amp and better speakers, then a 4 channel. Just something for you to consider or check into.

premier 720, pioneer 6cd changer, 12 premier sub, premier componets, 2 soso amps
still to come: new spark plug wires, new rims and tires, maybe a supercharger eventually.
