Blaupunkt Plug N Play harness
Blaupunkt Plug N Play harness
Has anyone found a source for the Blaupunkt Plug N Play harness for the F-150? It is PnP021 or 7-607-622-021-001. I have googled the crap out of it and come up with nothing. They still make the harness for just about every other vehicle though.
I bought one of the last ones Sonic Electronixs had a few months ago if this is for a late model Ford. You can make your own harness out of a Metra BT-5520 bluetooth wiring harness for 2003-up Ford vehicles without factory amplified subwoofer. Check ebay, there are several on there, but available from most electronics websites.
Yeah, it's for my 06 STX. Crap. Actually Windsor, I searched all of your threads for the amp as you are only one of a hand full of people to have the PnP. I did read online where some people were ordering them from UK electronics stores as they are still available over there. Thanks for the heads up on the Metra.
I had initally ordered my harness and amp from Crutchfield and the harness was back ordered. I had ants in my pants to install the amp, so I ordered another harness from Sonic as they showed it in stock. About a week later, Crutchfield told me they couldn't get the harness as it had been discountinued. So I almost didn't get one either.
But that metra harness will do the same thing for you. It has both female and male connectors that will interface with the factory plugs and the head unit. You just need to cut the speaker wires and run them to your amp and run the wires form the amp to the harness. The Blaupunkt amp does come with connectors that the speaker level wires use, so it won't be as difficult as you think. Actually you could use whatever amp you want, as long as it takes high level inputs. However, I found the amp to be a good value for what it is and it's pretty compact.

A little more info on the Metra Harness. It actually has 4 plugs on it. One goes to the radio, one to the vehicle harness, and two go to the Metra Parrot Bluetooth device. To use for this purpose, you cut off the Parrot plugs. The speaker wires out from the radio go to one of the parrot plugs and then from the other parrot plug to the harness. So they are already cut for you. Same with the always on power, switched power, and ground. You'll have to connect those together after cutting off the parrot plugs.
I have one sitting on my desk I'm about ready to wire up. I'll try to take some pictures as I go and put together a mini-tutorial.

Matt's the one that found the harness, I just passed it on. I was intimidated by the wiring of this system, but I have since gotten over it, having wired a signal processor before the amp and using RCA connections. It's not cheap to get the stock head unit to integrate with the system, but I have no regrets. My system sounds great. It's by no means a competition system, but it puts a smile on my face.

Hell, at this point I think I might just go with a good 4 channel and put some components up front and bridge the other channels to a supercrewsounds box in the back and be done with it. I would like to get an amp that pushed some pretty good power so I know I will need to put in new speaker wire to the front doors. Lucky me, I have the white block. We have a good install place relatively close to me (Enormis Audio) so I am going to swing by there and at least bend there ear for a bit.
