Kenwood amp
Kenwood amp
I have a Kenwood KAC-9103D mono amp max power is 1800W and 500x1 @ 4 ohm and 900x1 @ 2 & 1 ohm. I had 2 12" kicker comp cvr in a down fire in my old truck and it kept blowing the fuses on the amp, just when it sounded good (low bass) POP!!! another fuse. I belive i ran these in a series too not too sure what the diff is. Please consider im no pro, so i have no idea what effect some of the ***** on this amp actually have on the performance of my amp and subs. Im still not sure if these subs were performing to their full ability since i have heard other setups blow mine away.

thanx yeah i belive it was running at 2ohm/w a 6 ga. power. i may be getting 1 JL 12 would i need to upgrade my power wire to 4 ga.? and if i do would i need a 4 ga. ground as well?
6 guage wire is wayyyyy to thin for that amp. especially if your running at 2 ohms. I deffinitly recommend at least 4 gauge, and with that amp, youll need some crimp spades for because the terminals are pretty small, unless the newer ones got changed. also, i dont recommend running it at 1 ohm. Those things have a tendency to fry under that much load.
How long ago did you buy it? Its either a 1 year manufacturs or a 4 year through us.
