Clean Sweep/3Sixty -- Necessary?

I'm considering adding an amp to my stock 2009 AM/FM/Sirius/CD radio with Sync. Reading the literature on the Clean Sweep, they make it sound like it is a necessity with a stock head unit. Is this true on the F-150's? Or will I be fine with good amp with speaker level inputs? I'm going for good sound quality here, but not a competition level system. Initially, I'll just have good quality replacement speakers in the doors, possibly components in the front.
