Amp inputs hooked to the factory sub???

Hey guys, I just hooked an amp that i have had for a while and discovered the cross-over is not working, so at the moment I am getting all kinds of crappy sound to my sub...I have the audiophile head unit and it had the factory sub. My question is can I hook my RCA's directly to the sub wires, or do I need the LOC for that? If this can be done, will I harm my amp if the specs say it can handle 200mV to 4V's and the factory sub has a 5V max output?

thanks,
Ryan

So if I understand this correctly your amp is messed up, so you want to reinstall the factory sub and run it off the built in amp? It's kinda unclear in your post but this is what I'm gathering.

If that's the case then as long as you have the factory wiring still in place for the sub, just hook it up the back of your factory audiophile deck, then connect the plug under the rear seat to the sub and you're good to go.
