amps with factory nav

i am thinking of doing speakers and a 10in sub in my screw. i have factory nav and want to keep it. aftermarket headunit is out of the question. i was wondering how good an amp would sound with using the built in speaker level inputs. the kicker zx 700.5 and the mtx jackhammer amps have this option. i would like to avoid having to buy a cleansweep if i can. any auggestions? i am not looking for the best sounding setup out there but i want it to be decent.

Was the nav in the truck new? or did you put it in? If it was factory installed, then you should have the factory audiophile sub under the back seat that already has its own amp.

You can replace the stock amp/sub with aftermarket very easily. As for the door speakers, you can run hi/lo convertor (line out convertor), all you need is the wiring diagrams.

BE ADVISED the factory audiophile sub uses +5v dc for the amp turn on lead, aftermarket amps need 12v dc for turn on.

this problem can easily be solved with a 2 dollar transistor from radio hack.

Just use the factory 5v to trigger the transistor and run 12v to the line in side and you will have 12v out to turn on the amps. Just think of the trans as a N.O. relay and wire it as such.

yes the nav came with the truck. i dont have the factory audophile setup. i know the stuff i want to use, i just want to try and not use a separate LOC if it wont be that much of a difference. plus if i use a loc it will be a audiocontrol or a cleansweep

I wanted to keep the 6 disc premium radio and sirrius interface with the steering wheel controls in my truck. I didn't have the audiophile system and wanted a sub and better speakers too. I put a Blaupunkt 5 channel amp in my truck that uses speaker level inputs and it sounds fine to me.
