Mounting Amp On/Under back bench?

I was thinking about mounting my amp under the 60 side of my back seat (on the actual bench). I really dont want to tear up the material behind my back seat. I havent seen anyone do this, is there any reason or concerns with doing this?

I also see people using MDF to mount there amps, I was planning on using 3/4" plywood and covering in black carpet material to match. What is the benefit of using MDF? I also can get marine board for free, would that be better to use that plywood? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I should be getting me new amp today and I'm scared as chit to install it on the back wall. Not to still your thunder but would you guys say that screws that come with the amp are safe enough to install through the back wall. I'm so scared its going to go through but I see so many ppl who have done this.

If you are talking about mounting your amp upside down under the 60 split don't. Amps have heatsinks in them for a reason. Hot air rises.

This is why I asked, I haven't seen anyone do it and I was trying to avoid mounting on the back wall. I guess this is the reason.

Any thoughts on the MDF, Marine or Plywood?
