How much do you want to spend?

Keep in mind your impedence will be 4ohms for that single voice coil sub, so instead of getting a 1 channel (mono) sub amp (which often aren't very powerful at 4ohms), get yourself a solid 2 channel and bridge it. If you plan on adding a sub later, then start off with a 2ohm stable mono amp.

That sub is the entry level JL and will do well in the 300-400wRMS category. There are a ton of amps out there fitting in every price range. Here's just one example in the $175 range that will do rated power and is warranted through the manufacturer as it it sold through an authorized dealer and deliver a solid 400wRMS to that sub

I went with JL amps to power my JL speakers and sub. I figured sticking with a single manufacturer would keep things simple.

I have an old 250/1 JL amp that is pushing a single 10" W3 single voice coil. I have it in a JL sealed box and it rocks! I am thinking someone with audio experience can get more out of it, but I am happy with it. At least till I amp my door speakers! Then I will look into bumping it a bit more.

since you have a jl sub, which is a SQ sub...get a high quality brand amp that has an honest power rating... you'll be glad you did in the end..

Honestly 150wRMS is plenty.

You could start with a better sub! But if you are dead set on that sub, and it needs to be louder, you need a better box. Not a prefab, because your sub will be suffocated. a Custom box! Worry about a powerful amp after those two basics are covered

Theres nothing wrong with that sub. And there are many prefab companies that make fine boxes for these trucks.

I have never heard a prefab box that hasn't killed the sound coming out of their boxes. The guy needs a custom tuned enclosure. That way if he listens to rap 35-40hz, rock, 50-55hz, or SPL 60-80hz. Prefabs are cheap boxes thrown together. Some look nice in the way they fit, but never in the way they sound!!

Besides enclosure size, explain how you custom tune a sealed box?

well I bought a box for the sub from SuperCrewSound but it doesn't fit my truck cause I didn't see that it said it only fits the 2003 2004 supercrew.. So I'm trying to send it back.

My amp may just not be set right. I didn't change any of the factory settings on it when I got it. Cause I didn't know what to put it on...

If I have a sealed box what should I have the settings on?

Does anyone know of a company that has a box that will fit under the back seat behind the driver? I dont want it to go over the hump in the middle..

Edit:
http://supercrewsound.com/commerce/p...Id=14&catId=58

Thats the box I bought. It doesn't look like that either.. Its bigger and taller then the pic shows.
