amp issues...help!

okay amp is the hifonics listed in my sig, all connections are ran properly b/c i installed it w/ the help of a CC installer.... symptoms. amp light or protect light do not come on what so ever, no blown fuses what so ever, leds's on top of amp come on(minus the hifonics part that lights up), i blew my old amp last week and the power wire was charred, does not look like that right now b/c i replaced it but i am gettin no power or sound outta the amp... what could be wrong?

Where are you getting power from? And where is your ground? Are you 100% certain your headunit's RCA's are putting out a signal? Then at the same time are the RCA cables good? This is where it's nice to have that ultra cheap amp from wal-mart that was made in mexico along with some long cheap RCA's.

On a side note - CC installers are rarely impressive. Oh and your sig isn't showing.

it sounds like a signal problem.... im not sure how much access you have to product that you can test with... Maybe your guy at CCity has a test bench that he can test your amp on.. or a diff HU that he can run a pair of rca's directly into the truck with, you need to isolate the problem... Could be a bad channel on the amp. Could be a problem with the signal, maybe the amp is just bad. Hell all the speakers might not be connected for all i know though. Its hard to say without seeing it.

Ill bet money you have a glass fuse. Correct? If so, try a different fuse.

If thats not the case, take ya boys meter and check grounds, power to the terms, etc. Hes an installer, he should have it figured out.

P.S. CCity installer = Your problem JOKING!

14v at the Rem?

Ground under 1 ohm batt to amp?

If then it still doesnt turn on, that would be the amp.

If it does, then try a new set of RCA's just ran over the seats (big time-saver)

Make sure Subwoofer out is on.

If still no, check the resistance at the amp terminals.

Check the resistance at the spk.

If anything is a bit off with the resistance at the amp but not the spk, then try a new wire

If resistance is off at the amp and spk check inside the box. Look for a loose wire and/or a blown tinsel or open VC.

If none of that works, try a different amp. If sound comes out of the new one. Then it is the amp. If not its the radio.
