running power wire

Ok, I have a 05 scab 5.4. I am running my amp wire from the battery through the firewall. Question: Right behind the battery there are two wiring bundles that go through the firewall. To the right of those two bundles is a small, apx. 1" plug that appears to cover a small hole through the firewall. Is this where I should run my power wire. If so, where does the hole exit in the cab? I appears that the blower motor obstructs passage of the wire from the engine bay into the cab. What gives??? Thanks for any reply......

We do have many threads pertaining to this. I hate to rag on another Tiger fan but come on bro, do a search and help us all out. If you have questions after that then we will address them.

don't start talking about these tiger fans now. Some people on here are pretty new and don't know how to search for topics.

running power wires

I am in the same boat as you and I did the search. Apparently a lot of folks run it outside the truck. I am still hoping that you are able to find passage through the firewall. I have not found a thread on this but as I am 'new' I may be searching incorrectly. I hope we get some real answers on this one form some helpful folks. I have an '05 Supercrew King Ranch and am replacing everything myself. I have never done a job as large so I am looking for help on all things!

Thank you for searching, as stated if a search was done I would help.

What gauge wire are you planning on running? What amps?

Running power wires

Thanks for the help. I will be running a Alpine PDX - 5 with 75watts x4 and 300x1 to a new 10" sub in musicmoose enclosure. Component speakers in front and rear and Alpine 505 Head unit. All by my lonesome! Puuting in code alarm security and remote starter as well!

Well 4ga is by far the minimum I would use. And the easiest run is through the grommet under the Pass rear sill.

I didn't even attempt it. It was a PITA enough getting 4awg through there a year ago, i wasn't even gonna try to get 1/0 through there. I ran mine down underneath the truck and back up through the rear access hole right under the amps.
