8 guage amop kit enough?

I have a 1000 watt mono block class D amp and two 10 inch subs each with an RMS of 600 watts. I bought an 8 gauge amp kit, will that be big enough?

x2. A true 1000 watt amplifier needs at least 4awg.

I appreciate everyone's input on this, I went and bought a wheel of 4 guage wire. My next question is, do you think I will need any sort of extra power such as a second battery or anything?
