mono vs 2 channel
You need to find out the RMS wattage and MAX wattage range of your sub. Mine are 300W RMS and 600W MAX. Get a good mono amp that rubs the same RMS and MAX power as your sub can handle with a 2ohm stable load. You'll get the best sound quality and the longest life out of your sub.
ignore max altogether. Get a amp that exceeds your subs power rating by about 25%. The overhead will allow the amp to run safer and cooler than a amp pushed hard to reach it's full output rating.
If the sub is a SVC 2 ohm, you will probably want to look for a mono, as its usually hard to come across a 2 channel that is stable at 2 ohm bridged.
If its DVC 2 ohm you can wire it for 4 ohm and use a 2 channel bridged.
If your needing an arseload of power though, just go with a mono.

Its the same as wiring the VCs of a DVC sub together to get a single load.
thank god for sending bartak1 cuz hes right...it all depends on your sub whether or not you need a 2 or 1 chanel. you need to figure out whether your going to run a dual voice coil sub or a single vioce coil sub..and then look at your amps. one thing that you need to pay attention to is how lowof an ohlm load the amp can handle and then look at the RMS power never look at the max power that stuff is just bologna!
