Question about wiring

Hello,

I have a question. I am currently running a Blaupunkt PCA 465 Amp with 4- 6.5" alpine type R speakers. 4x65 RMS I guess their running at 4 ohm? The amp manual said it can run 4x100 RMS at 2 ohm. Can i hook up the speakers using 2 channels and running them in parallel to get the 2 ohm and 100 watts per speaker? would that be wise? I plan i buying a sub so i wanted the other 2 channels to bridge.
Sorry for all the questions but i don't really get all the technical stuff.

Thanks for the help.

So you got a 4 channel amp. If you pair up the left side speakers and right side speakers to make 2 ohms you'll in effect only deliver 50w per speaker since you'll be doubling the number of speakers per output. cheapest option would be to just not use the rear speakers and use those channels bridged on a low powered sub. Best option would be buy a mono amp for the sub and leave the 4 channel alone. If you need more volume for your doors disconnect the rear channels and bridge the 4 channel into a 2 channel for the front speakers.

That makes sense but how would i get 4x100 RMS @ 2 ohms? Is there any way i can get those type r's to put out a 2 ohm load. I don't really want to buy another amp for a sub. It would kinda seem like a waste to not power the rear alpines.
Thanks again for the help

You cannot change the resistance of a speaker.

You just have to get another amp for a subwoofer. It'll be worth it.
