'04 Supercrew Amp q'S
First, how thick (maximum) can the amp be? I am looking to mount it in the bottom corner, passenger side, behind the back seat.
Next, how do I mount the 'rack' for the amp to sit on? I am trying to avoind inadvertantly drilling a hole thru the truck all the way to the OUTSIDE of the cab...
Thanks in advance.

well... let me answer for myself:
I bought a Kicker ZX300.1 that fits just fine along the back wall (passenger side). I did not measure it, but you can google to get the measurements of that one if interested. There is not much more room than that (thickness) though if you had the need, a longer amp would fit.
I did not drill into the back metal of the cab of the truck to mount it. I simply have it between the rear seat release 'clamp and back wall, coupled with the pressure from the seat, and I have no problems.
I have the amp run thru the factory head unit using a line out converter (connected thru drivers side front) so I can put RCA jacks in the amp.
The amp has a separate control for bass level, allowing you to tweak your amp from wherever you place the audio control .I removed the actual ash tray, drilled a hole, and have the control in the ash tray compartment (the same flip out door with just the actual tray removed) keeping the stock look but allowing easy access to the control.
The amp is powering 2 Kicker 10" subwoofers under the rear seat in a pre-fab box. The subs are 4 ohm, but I ran them to run at 2 Ohm and get the max out of the amp. The sound INSIDE the truck is great, and the sound OUTSIDE the truck is almost non-existant, which is exactly what I wanted.
