Multiple amps question

I currently have a Kenwood 2 channel amp that i would like to use in my truck. I currently have an amp that is powering my subs and figured i would like to use this amp to power the speakers in the truck. I am having a hard time figuring out how to wire this amp to speakers and am not exactly sure how to hook up the speakers to the amp in the first place. Can anyone give me any advice or input in this. Thanks for any advice you could give me

Running your interior speaker off of an amp is a fairly simple process. First off you need to disconnect your door speakers from the factory harness. you will run speaker wire from the stock locations to the new amp for them. Since you only have a two channel amp, I recommend bridging the front speakers together and the rear ones together. To provide power to the amp, install a distibution block and you can split the 12volt power from the batter between the two amps. To finish the install, you need to run the RCA cable and the remote wire to the head unit. Hope this helps.

There are better ways.

Which Kenwood 2 ch is it? What spks are you trying to run?

I was going for quickest and easiest, but I'm interested to hear better alternatives. My personal install is this weekend, so any professional tips could come in real handy.

Power the fronts off of the amp, and run the rears off of headunit power.

Did I really see someone type

This is the thread: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ght=Amp+wiring

I never recommend running RCAs and Hi-level wires next to a power wire. However, it is possible with spk wire... Still not my first, second or third choice...

Maybe ebay that amp and get a 4 channel amp? I have a 4 chan amp powering 4 door speakers. I ran rca's to one side and power and remote wire to the other side of vehicle. My speaker wires on one side are run next to the power and remote wire and I get no noise or anything.

Well i got the speakers and ran all the wire for the amp and last weekend i got the door panel taken apart and then realized the Alpine tweeters are too big for the stock location. the next step is to figure out where to mount the tweeters and then wait some more since i am at school and have limited tools. Oh well eventually i will get those speakers working and hopefully be satisfied with the money i spent on em. thanks for the help and if you have any ideas on tweeter locations that would help.

I agree with Low, just make the stock location bigger.

If your gonna stick with the 2 channel, use it to power the Type R's in the front, and just have the rears powered off the deck. Type R's have the tendency to sound like junk if they dont get enough power.
