What impedence are your subs (dual 4, single 4, etc) and how much are you willing to spend?

Let me offer a disclaimer that I am not trying to be a smart butt; however, this is the first time that I understand a topic well enough to correct something. So here it goes:

Subwoofers (or speakers in general) do not "put out" power, they "handle" power; amplifiers "put out" power. Therefore both speakers can handle 350 watts RMS.

Rolltide, don't worry about it, Bama fans need help sometimes, and who better than a Dawg to give it.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. As far as your question, I don't know enough about it to make a recommendation.

I'm looking forward to Sep 27th between the hedges; should be a good warm up for our national title run.

GO DAWGS!!!!

ok you need to check if they are single 4 ohm or dual 4 ohm models. Ok If they are single 4 ohm models you will need an amp that can handle 700 watt rms at a 2 ohm load. And you will wire them like this http://www.crutchfield.com/learningc...4%2Dohm%5Fmono
if they are the dual 4 ohm models then you will need an amp that can handle 700 watt rms at a 4 ohm load (which will be a big amp). you will wire these like this http://www.crutchfield.com/learningc...4%2Dohm%5Fmono

Please let me know what model you have so i can suggest some amps for you.

Or a 1 ohm load...which isnt near as hard to find and considerably cheaper than a a/b 700 watt amp.

huh? never sounds right? You confuse me grasshoppa. Have you ever ran a class D amp on a 1 ohm load? Thats what they're (most of them) designed to do...1 ohm. And they're about 90% efficient as opposed to 60-65% for A/B amps.

I never ran at 1 ohm but me and my friend have the exact same system and mine is ran @ 2 ohm and his is @ 1 ohm and even he will say my system takes his out.

Without knowing a little more about both of your systems, I cant say why this would be. If you have the EXACT same system, he is theoretically running twice the power that you are (if both amps are 1 ohm stable). Difference in vehicles, boxes, position of the box in the vehicle all have a huge effect on output.
