Hi all ill start off by saying I know very little about audio so please help me out! Im looking into buying two Jl audio 8w3v3 which are puting out 150 wrms each now my question is will the Jl 250/1 amp be enough or will it be pushing it too hard? 500/1? any other one that might come to mind?

thanks ryan

Either would work. 250/1 might be a better match. You would not need to worry about too much power.

Ehh you could do the 500/1 but it will be abt 100W per sub too much. The 250/1 is 25W under the specs per spkr.

I would probably go with the 500/1 (if you want to stick with JL to have matching stuff). I would rather over power a speaker a little than under power. That and it always gives you room to expand/upgrade in the future. That and if you dont push it, it wont blow anything.

Good luck either way...

not to mention that with a 500/1 u could set ur gains correctly to send each sub the amt. of power it needs, and have room for some flexibility, like adding a third sub in the future i've also tried 4 8w3v2 the prior generation 8's in my cousins tacoma(yes i know but it's family, still trying to convert them) behind his seat and they sounded decent. this was also in a sealed enclosure i made.
