Capacitors for your subs?

How many ppl are using capacitors with their amps? If your not using one are you experencing your lights blinking or diming. I'm just trying to decide if I should add one. I have a .5 Farad just lying around.

I use a Kinetik Power Cell. Capacitors are a lost cause, They put more load on your alt and batt. I would look at a Kinetik, It will give the power to the amp in "real-time"

I use to have a Ford Explorer with 2 W3 and 2 W0. Till it got totaled last week.

if your amps are drawing enough amps where its dimming your lights while driving the cheapest thing you can do is the Big 3 upgrade (do a search and you will find out what im talking about). Next on the list is to add a second battery which should give you enough of a reserve cushion of voltage so your lights shouldnt dim. If you are running multiple high current amplifiers then i definitely recommend buying a higher output alternator, doing the Big 3, and adding the second battery (preferably a battery designed for that purpose - any sealed deep cycle design is fine there are plenty of brands available). If you are drawing that much current your going to hurt your charging system over time if the changes arent made to protect the vehicles electrical system and ensure it can handle the load. STAY AWAY FROM CAPACITORS, they are a placebo and nothing more.

I was just asking. I dont think I need anything or do I. I will be running 1 amp and 1 sub both rated at 400 watts RMS. Do you think this setup will make the lights blink in a 07 150?

no not at all...you will be fine, the stock charging system in the F150 is more than adequate for that setup

Actually adding a second battery will hurt you more than help. When the vehicle is running the second battery becomes an additional load on the alternator and can make a bad situation worse. Definately do the big3, probably the most overlooked thing in installs.
