Elemental Designs???

Folks

I have been looking at their products for awhile now. I haven't bought anything but their prices are worth looking at.

Just curious if any of you have any experience with these products.

They make good stuff so I've heard. Sad to say though, I haven't had the chance to play with any of their stuff yet.

While I have your attention, my stereo guy is trying to talk me into a probox with an single 10 over my 2 10's that i have now. It would be for an F250 ported box.

Do you have any thoughts on that?

RollingRock,
I bought my Subs from Elemental and they are great. I bought two of these in the Dual 2. I got my box from supercrew sound.com. It's a sealed box for the two subs. I am really happy with my experience with both of these companies.

BTW... I went from a single 10 (JL Stealth) to these and I would do it again and again. Sounds so much better.

thanks, not sure what I am going to do...F250's are tough to work with sub wise. I think I am just getting greedy, my chit sounds pretty good now. Need some second/third opinions.

I would't go for a single ported 10 over dual sealed 10's. The goal of a ported design is higher SPL and a lower range. It's not too common to port the smaller subs anyways. You'd loose a lot of punch your current setup has.

I don't recall what your current setup is, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy eD as a affordable upgrade.

Yeah I know there is some give and take.

My current set up

Alpine W205 with 2 ipods, one for video and one for audio (almost 10K songs, yes I know this is excessive), 1 30 gig video and 1 80 gig video.
Fosgate 3 way door speakers (6X8)
2 Earthquake SWS 10 subs 4 ohm SVC
Punch 4004 amp for the doors
Punch 3001 amp for the subs
Punch digital Cap

SuperCrewSound dual 10 box for F250 with power slide glass. Has .45 cf per side.

My lows are audible but you don't get the feel of the super lows (20htz) due to box size but the kick base will hit you in the mouth. Overall the sound is super clean. It could be better with some component fronts and more power to the doors. Rock and country sound amazing, hip hop sounds below average....I am not a big fan of it but some songs are fun to play. With my F150 and my down firing Punch P2 10's they would hammer on anything you give them. Low's, mid etc. It spoiled me so i am trying to make my F250 sound like that. Without moving my rear seats forward I have to make due.

Open for suggestions.

JP

EDIT-One option is to remove the power side rear glass to a single and remove the motor in order to put in a larger box. Not sure I want to do that as it will affect the resell of the truck. This truck is tempoary for me. Only going to keep for another year. Holding out for a diesel in a half ton....I know, a whole other topic. If not I will get another F250 but a new one. And no more King Ranch....done with that.

I ran a single 11Kv2 and later a pair of them. Great subs for the price. I still do not think they are up to par with the IDQ or Arc series subs but, they are cheaper as well. I still do not think there is a much better sub than the IDQ for SQ in a shallow box for under seat mounting. But the ED subs are really good subs. Although, I would not pay $115 each for them. I would much rather spend a bit more on a pair of IDQ's.

I agree with Impact in that I would run a pair of 10's sealed any day over a single 10" ported. Unless you have tons of room and power for a super sub like the IDMAX

The only way your going to get any rumble is to go with 12's or bigger. I personally would stick with the 10's. I changed from a single 10" Polk MOMO to a SI BM10 and there was a vast improvement in the low end and overall SPL.

Sorry i thought I posted this like 12 hours ago. lol

**** I didn't respond to this....

do you happen to know the specs on the Polk? Air space wise? My box is .45 per side so that is the more limiting factor for the lows...I think.

.45 wow that is tight. Polk wants .66 for the 10" momo.

http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/products/subs/

find the speaker and look at the PDF manual

A Stereo Integrity BM10 can go to .4 cf.

I've got two 11.kv2s in a SuperCrewSound.com box and their amp. No complaints. I'm actually suprised at how loud it was, I'm sure it'd be even louder if they weren't facing down but out into the cab.
