Both amps stop at same time
Both amps stop at same time
I was driving and sound stopped coming from both subs at the same time. I wasn't blaring the music either.
Setup
Pioneer head unit w/ sub output sends signal to first JL 300/2 amp.
Signal out from 1st amp goes to the second JL 300/2 amp.
Each amp has its own power and powers its own 10w3v2 sub.
I've eliminated a problem with the head unit. I used some long RCA cables to run from my h/u output to my brothers amp and it makes noise. So the output from the h/u is good.
I connected to my brothers h/u output to each amp separately and nothing happened.
Neither of the fuses have blown and the power light comes on.
The wires are making good connections between the amp and the sub.
Any ideas? I'm really stumped and frustrated.

At first I figured your turn on wire, untill I saw that the amps power light DOES come on (correct?). Could still be something with that though. Maybe try running a wire from your battery straight to the turn-on on your amp and see if it does anything....?
Sure got me thinking some.
Im trying to think how they arent getting signal somehow...
You used a different set of RCA's from your brothers HU to your amps than the RCA's you had ran in your truck?

might save a bit of wire and use a short bit to jumper from the amps power in to the remote if those amps have a power block style connections on the side.
This is a real brain twister of a problem. Check to make sure your getting at leave 12v to the amps and recheck that you have solid grounds. Use a multimeter to electrically check all the fuses. Good luck!
