Amp not working

About 4 months ago a bought a Highphonics 1500 watt amp, and 2 10" solar barics from a good friend. i hooked it all up myself. everything has been working fine until recently.

the amp will come on but it won't send power to the subs. sometimes it will and other times i won't. on the front of the amp there is two leds, one says protect and the other says power. when i turn the key on the protect light flashes and then the power light comes on, and everything works. now the protect light flashes but the power light doesn't come on. all of the other lights come on, so i know the amp is getting power. is it not getting enough?

the amp is mounted under my passenger seat and the subs sit in a box on my back seat. a while back i disconnected the speaker wires and took the box out b/c i needed the back seat. well when i hooked it back up this started. what i don't get is i have done this numerous times and it has worked.

sorry for the long post i just wanted to try and explain everything.

You didnt happen to wire them to a lower impedence than your amp can handle last time you took them out and put them back in, did you?

Wires shorting out at times? Maybe if you have a few little strands of wire that didnt get in the amp/terminal they could be touching at times???

yes i think you are correct. today i started my truck, and the subs where not working. while i was driving they started working. i think i either have a bad connection on the remote wire, or a short in it somewhere. what do you think?

Yes, could be on the turn on wire, or speaker wires too.
