Need Help!!!

I just hooked up my new amp to my mids/highs and i get the dreadful whining noise. I have a good clean ground and still noise. i went as far as grounding the amp directly to the neg. battery term. and still noise. I have tried 3 diff. sets of RCA's as well, still noise. What else can it be???

I want to get this amp installed so my mids/highs are much clearer and louder, but i can't deal with that noise.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've always been told NOT to hook it up to the negative post. go to radio shack and get some noise blockers. they're alot cheaper there

don't run your rca's next to your power line, if you are thats where your noise is coming from

What kind of head unit are you running?

Does the noise change tone when you step on the gas??

To piggy back Bartak1, if you do get the whine while the engine is running you'll want to replace your spark plug wires with some high quality cables.

You also want to keep your grounds as short as possible.
