max size of amp behind back seat in 06 screw???

I just got my amp and it seems pretty damn big, about 20x11x2.25. Does anyone have pix on the best exact location to put one this size?

It's this one by the way, I'm on a budget and this one rates way above it's price.http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...Product_ID=446

well, with your power slider window I'm going to say that you need to flip the window motor and mount the amp low on the back wall, It's gunna be a TIGHT squeeze but it "should" work. ( this is just reference as I have never flipped my motor to take measuerments for amp fitment possiblities)

I didn't get the power slider rear window option on my truck so that will not be an issue. I am searching out pix but it's tough to guage the actual size from some of the pix I am seeing.

If you do not have the power window, you should be fine. I have the power window and my biggest amp is right around 19" long. The two amps I have stacked together are a total of around 16" tall so, you should have no problems.

Yeah I was checking out the pix of your set-up, very nice! I didn't see any pix of your amps though, do you have any? I have been scouring the galleries but it's tough to get good pix.

I think I have a couple of pics. Let me see if I can find them.

My JL 450/4 is about the same size and fit high up on the passenger side behind the rear seat on my 07. In fact, I had a JL 250/1 and it fit right next to the 450/4. I just replaced the 250/1 with a Zapco DC500.1 and it all fit fine.

Ok I just got the seat out and ready to rock but there is no way I'm gonna fit that Amp vertically. I need to see some pix of guys with large dimensions and see how they mounted them. The MDF I got for the base is 23x12 and I'm assuming it will go horizontal but would like to have the "best" place to mount it.

If you don't have the power rear window a 20 inch amplifier is not going to be a problem at all on the passenger's side. I had a 21 inch on that side with the power rear window motor for a little while and it didn't have any room to spare, but since you don't even have the motor it's going to fit fine!

Look at how much room you have on the passenger's side. You won't have that big motor in the center so you'll have plenty of space. Sorry I don't have any pics after the install. After two days of deadening and stuff the last thing that was on my mind was taking pictures...

yeah it will most likely go horizontal but I am wondering if I should go high or low?

I went low because it leaves a little more room for air movement, not that there's that much back there anyway, but anywhere near the top and it's right against the seat...

Go as low as you can without hitting the amp on the seat mounts. The airflow is a great point, but it also makes it easier to get the back seat back in and out when you want to get back there and "tweak" something, which will happen.

I had a Soundstream VGA 800.5 back there at one point, which is 20" with the mounting hardware and I had plenty of room. I have no power slider window either.

Sorry, I don't have any pics. But, if you look at "The Archer" pic I mounted the top of the amp on the same level as the window motor bracket (mine doesn't have power window option). When I switched to Zapco DC Reference amps I mounted them a little lower.

Hope this helps.

I took this out of "BigDave's" Picture forum. Hope he didn't mind, but it should help you with visualizing what you need to do...
