Speaker noise

I just installed an amp to power just the front speakers on my 06 Scab. The problem is; with the ignition and the radio off, I get a low static noise only from the LF speaker. If I switch around the RCA inputs (L&R)), the noise travels to the RF. The noise goes away interely as soon as I open up the door. Could it be the remote-on wire causing this?

BTW: Its the OEM 6Disc, MP3 non-Audiophile. Taping Pin #2 (Lt Green/Yellow)on HU plug as remote-on to amp.

Thanks

I dont think it would be the remote wire.

Have you tried a different set of RCAs at all? I would try that, just to make sure its not a bad set of RCA cables...

Thanks, I did change the cables but the problem still exists. I'll try to re-mount the amp so its not touching the back wall of the truck cab.

My guess is this is the problem. I'd use solder or at least a butt connector instead of tape! I'm sorry, I tried but I couldn't resist!

On a serious note, After I turn off my truck the radio continues to play until I open the door so it still must be getting power until then. If this amp is new out of the box and the noise is only on one channel, it may be the amp itself. Do you have access to a different amp to try without changing anything else?

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm am using a butt connector for pin 2 but will try to solder it to see if any improvements. I ordered this amp brand new from Crutchfield so if all else fails, I'll give them a call.

Dude, wait! I was just yanking your chain b/c you wrote taping instead of tapping. Sorry, that was just a lame attempt at humor, not your problem.

Hmm, might try looking for any kind of major power wires that could cause interference...

Are you using a line out convertor?

Using a PAC SNI-35 LOC. Intitially I had a line level input that came with the amp but it introduced even more noise than now.

Maybe its the LOC...?? It has to be something between the HU and the LOC...

Everything is hooked up properly for sure? Does the LOC itself have a ground wire?

Do you have anything like a CB or something like that installed in the truck?
