Mounting Amp on Backwalll v.RearPowerWindow

So I attempted the amp install last night, but there isn't much room for my amp. It's about 2ft long I mounted it up high, just under the window, but then the back of the seat wouldnt go back on.

I have the rear power window, and the damn black line from the motor that goes across the passenger side of the back wall is in the way.

Can it be tucked into that channel that is there, and then mount the amp over the channel??

Yes, but you can only go so far up and still remount the upper seat... I'm pushing the limit here...

Well,it wouldn't fit vertically. Too long..

I put about midway down, and its still too high. Not quite sure how to handle. It seems that the bars that surround the middle pull-down arm thingy are in the way... The top middle and top driver side will secure, and the bottom driver side and passenger side will secure, but I can't get the top passenger side..

The pic is a EA4000 13-3/8"L x 10-1/4"W x 2-5/16"H

I replaced it with a XA5000 15-3/4"L x 10-1/4"W x 2-5/16"H

I still mounted it in the same point on the top and its about a 1/2" to 3/4" off the floor...

I can't help you with the rear seat fold down arm rest, the XLT's don't have it, sounds like i'm glad I don't have one....

So would a 17ish inch long amp fit there? Would have to leave about 2inches on either end too for wires, so around 21 inches. Is that possible?

Im trying to figure out what I can and cant do when I trade trucks. Room for stereo equipment is a major concern

Bart, without a test fit, I would have to say no... It going to have to be mounted long ways... Its just hard to say, its depends on how thick the amp is, if you have a power slider motor in the mix, and as I never thought of (I don't have one) a fold down armrest in the back upper....

but, I would think long ways it would go WITHOUT a fold down armrest in the back upper, the slider motor can be moved alittle... WITHOUT a slider motor and a fold down armrest in the back upper.. even a bigger amp can be mounted long ways and a smaller one on the otherside....

I think Bryan has or had 3 zapco's back there... I do know he moved the slider motor some...

This is why I really like Eclipse amps, most are only 2 5/16 thick, most have top mounted controls, all wiring inputs on one side on the newer amps....

Hmm, maybe all the amps towards the bottom running length wise.

Amps are JUST under 3 inches thich, 12 inches high, and one is 17 long, the other two are about 14 inches long.

So just the amps, side by side, are going to be 45ish inches wide, plus space I need between the amps for the wires...

Possible you think?
