Question Amp and Wiring Speakers

I have a 1997 expedition with the mach audio system. I recently upgraded the speakers to...
Pioneer Pioneer TS-A6881R - 50 watts rms 260 watts peak
front and back.
and a
Sony CDX-GT805DX head unit.
I had to buy the Scosche Integration Adapter because i have a built in amp.
I am going to buy the...
Rockford Fosgate p450.4 - 60W x 4 @ 4-Ohms RMS
I was going to run each speaker off its own channel.
Is that going to be to powerful for the speakers?

How can i wire the speakers for the rockford amp so i can bypass the built in amp? Do i have to mess with the wiring in the Scosche adapter? Also what size speaker wire should i buy?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That amp is a great match power wise for those speakers.

Just leave the speaker wires coming from your HU unhooked (tape them off so they dont short out) then just run RCA cables from the HU to the amp. You dont need the Scosche adapter at all.
I would use 16 gauge wire.
