the only tip I know to give you is to run the power and RCA's on opposite sides of the truck to prevent interference.

yea, get a good ground. Sand away the paint down to bare metal where to ground the amp to help eliminate noise.

What kind of tips? Anything really?

Cover every inch of the power wire outside the vehicle in looming, if you want to be extra carefully cover the whole thing. Run it down the side under the sill plate, along with your turn on wire.
Solder and heatshrink the turn on wire where you splice it onto a wire if you can, or at least crimp and tape it.
RCA's down the opposite side of vehicle, try to keep them away from bigger power wires.
If you crimp on a terminal, it also helps to solder it some too. Makes a nice strong connection. Use those rubber boot type things over the crimped part of the terminal too-little extra protection, plus it makes it look a lot nicer.
A good ground is VERY important. Make sure it is a good solid ground-dont attach it to some little bracket that spot welded to the body or anything. Directley to the floor is your best place. Make sure its clean and nice bare metal. Spend some time on it, get all paint off, sand it down some, get it nice and shiny.
Cut your wires to the proper lenght, extra lengths of wire laying around look bad. Keep everything nice and tidy.

A few basic things to start you off...

There is actually 2 spots to go through the firewall without drilling.
1) big grommet just behind the batterie, runs right behind fuse center.
This is where mine is run through at.
2) Med grommet on drivers side just behind FMU in plain site. This would be the easiest to get to, but be sure to think out your wire run as this one enters just above the brake peddle. Also be sure to hide the wiring in the engine compartment so it looks pro.

and another thing, Your best bet with the RCA's is to go directly down the center of the truck on the trans tunnel as there is hardly any factory harness there. And the 1 harness that is there you will cross at a 90*angle which won't cause intereference.

All I had to do was remove the center console, there is enough slack in our carpeting to just run the "wires" under it without much of a problem.
