Fuse Size Recommendation
Fuse Size Recommendation
Saw the other post about popping fuses and I was wondering what size main fuse from the battery would be recommended for this amp http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...s=discontinued
I'm thinking about using a circuit breaker typeon my 4AWG so I wont have to worry about buying fuses so let me know what size you think I should use and if anyone has had any luck with the breaker type fuses?I have 2 MTX DVC 5512 12" subs also that's been wired at 4 Ohms.

Just remember, your fuse is your weak link. That is your protection. A little lower is always better than higher. I run only a 60 amp fuse with my 3 amps and over 1400 watts and have not blown one. I would not go over 100 for sure and with only that amp, might even try a little lower first. If it blows, you can always go a bit higher but, if you start to high.....
Yea that did sound a little overboard,I don't want to over heatthe wires and cause some serious trouble down the line.I'm also using a 4GA wire.

150 Amp x 12 Volts= 1800 watts
You could have atleast three 500 watts amps on that.
TxHustla I wouldn't put a bigger fuse in, if the system will work off the smaller fuse. It's more of a risk to run a bigger fuse. The only way I'd put a bigger fuse in is if your amps are blowing the fuse from to much current draw. I don't see that happening to often.
