Amp Thump
Amp Thump
PLEASE HELP. i have a 93 190E Benz just hooked aftermarket subs and amp, with the volume down u can hear the box making this growling noise. i have the wires separated about 8inches apart. I have also tried running my remote wire to the battery same noise. if anyone has any advice im open 2 suggestions
what is the box made out of? size subs? how powerful of an amp? etc give us more information. My guess is at low volume your subs arent getting enough watts, so they just kinda vibrating slowly instead of bumping.

Growling sounds?? Im not exactley sure what your meaning.
What's your amps ground like? MANY MANY times noise can be blamed on a bad ground...
RCA's maybe? Have you tried swapping out the RCA's for a difference pair?

if it doesnt hit as hard as it used to at a reasonably loud volume, im gonna second the vote on the ground being bad. I have my amp grounded to a seat mounting bolt.
you could double check your RCA connections on the HU side. If you still have factory deck, your line out convertor mave have bitten the bullet.
