the best way to charge it is to dissconect it and drop in in the trash

Whats wrong with caps, they do a good job for what they are intended to do, just not the cure all people think they are... they stiffen amp load to power amps, will not cure a weak elect. system or under size wiring, bad conections, ect,ect...

can be charged with a 12v light bulb on pig tails in a pinch... on your battery, remove main amp feed, disconnect amps or pull fuses.. nothing wired but cap.. put a light bulb between bat pos. and amp feed, light will come on.. when light goes out, cap is charged.....

caps lower your voltage and add more load to your alternator. throw it away

Wrong. They will not fix a bad charging system or a low voltage situation but they can help stiffen the amps supply for those microsecond dips.
When discharged they are a load but so is your battery. Caps do not lower your overall voltage unless your charging system sucks to begin with.
Charging them is not needed.
