one mono and one double

would it work if i ran a mono amp with a 100+ watts to get the max out of my two 60 rms front speakers and then a 1200 watt amp to run my 2 500 watt rms subs? wouldn't i get the max out of both speakers and subs.
If i could run the mono amp to the speakers than any recommendations for a one.

I've come across a 1200 watt amp it's a Sony Xplod xm-2200GTX barely used for extremly cheap. Im pretty sure ive heard that the sony xplod series stinks but im not really sure and for the price i really don't care, unless you guys tell me it's a flat out POS. Thanks again
