Amplifier Location

Where is the easiest place for me to install an amp in a 2000 Lariat Supercab? I thought about mounting to the bottom of the rear seat, but there is nothing solid to attach it to, so is next best place the floor? and if I am going on the floor is there anything solid to attach it to that will prevent it from sliding around? Will some heavy duty velcro work? I had hoped to fit it in the center console, but don't think there is room.

Also, do the 2000 Lariat's come with a Ford amplifier already? if so how can I find this out, where is it located, and how easy is it to bypass it? I am keeping the stock HU but replacing all speakers and adding a 4 ch amp. I read that the factory amp (on a 1997 though) might be behind the glovebox, if this is true is it easy to bypass as I have a passenger airbag and want to avoid messing about in that area as much as possible.

And finally............ since I will be keeping my stock HU I will most likely connect the amp using speaker level inputs, is the easiest way to connect to these to splice in new speaker cable at the HU and run to the amp, and then run new cable from the amp to each speaker?

Thanks.

depending on the size of the amp, also limits your locations. i went with mine under the drivers seat. and yes had to drill into the floor. but i ended up making a panel from wood to screw onto the floor and screwed the amp into that.

as far as connections, i did the same. just ran line level to the amp from wires spliced into the rear 2 speakers.
