S Crew amp mounting

I'm going to help my brother-in-law install a system in his 04 Super Crew cab. We are going to mount them behind the back seats. I'll be putting them on mdf or something thinner. How did you all mount it to the cab wall? How thick is the cab wall? Don't want to run screws all the way through.

Thanks,
Scott

I used 1/8" mdf with some plastic 1/4" round spacers behind the mdf. I then used 1" or 1 1/2" seft tapping sheet metal screws and went through the mdf and the spacer. The use of the spacer allowed enough room for the cables to be hidden behind the mdf

Come to think of it maybe it was 1/4". I know it wasnt that easy to find, I had to do a great deal of searching at the hardware store to find it. I could only find it in 4'x4' sheets.
