Question Infinity Amp?

Does anybody have an opinion on the Infinity Reference 5761A Amps? There are a bunch of them on eBay right now and it seems as though one will work well for what Iwant to do.

I have a set of Infinity Kappa 682.7cf 6x8 two ways in the front doors of my 03 SCrew and want to add another set in the rears with a small 8" Sub to round it out. Don't want super loud just good medium level sound. All this will run off my Kenwood KDC-MP828 HU. Planning to run the Amp with the 5th and 6th channels bridged for the Sub.

Opinions?

Thanks

Ian

DO NOT BUT INFINITY AMPS... ok... i had to get that out... sorry but they dont have real good power supplies and they clip on my infinity perfect 6.1's at 1/4 gain and the amp is noisy. Called infinity and they told me to change a resistor in the tweeter but it still clips like mad. busted a tweeter from clipping so they sent me a new one and then reccomended that i buy a jbl.Not gonna happen...I mean how can they make an amp that can't even drive there own speakers There you go

What he said. Infinity amps are NOT even close to being worth the money. They are pretty, but they are also pretty crappy.

Thanks. Appreciate the input.

So I guess the next question then if the Infinity is a no go is what is a good 6 channel amp to run my set up? I know I lose some quality by going the 6 ch. route rather than using seperate amps but I only want to make room for the one amp and super loudness is not needed. I am not an audiophile but do want a reasonable SQ.

Looking to get something a little under 100w RMS to each of the 4 doors and maybe 200 or so to the Sub. The door speakers are 2 ohm and the sub is 4. I have the 3 separate outputs on my HU so I can drive 3 pairs of channels separately.

My friend put in a 761w mono infinty amp in his camaro, pushing his rockford punch 10" no problems. Sounds great, really clear sound.

Hardest part about infinties is that they dont make very many models, so if you have one that will fit you system go for it. I wouldnt necissarily try to build a system around the amp tho.

In spite of the alarming popularity Infinity has right now, there is absolutely nothing about them that separates them from dozens of other companies. They are very average, and do their best to appeal to the masses, which to me is an instant sign to go elsewhere, like here http://www.zedaudio.com
Dollar for dollar, you won't find better amps than Mr. Mantz makes. I'm in the process of selling my beloved Linear Power gear on ebay(username 69ss408, already sold 3 of them) to make room for a Draconia and a Deuce w/BurrBrown upgrades. Be sure to read Mr. Mantz' history.

97f250, are those two on Ebay the only ones you have left? Nothing left with some bigger power? Like 600+ watts?

No, that's it. The only "big power " amp I have is an old school Hifonics, and it's not for sale. It's 175x2 into 4 ohms and is stable to 1 ohm in 2 channel operation. It bench tested at over 700x1 into 4 ohms, and 1100x1 into 2 ohms. I gave a big $75 for it on ebay. It's scuffed up, but works flawlessly.
