Ok, What Am I Thinking

Well, in another impulse buy, I just dropped the coin on an Arc Audio 1500XXK. I know Brypink is going to be upset because he thought he had me converted to the dark side, (Zapco). But, I could not pass it up. $300 shipped for 1,000 watts @ 2ohms. I do not even know what I am going to do with it yet. But, she should be here in about a week. That will up the total of my Arc amps to 7.

(2) 5150XXK
(2) 2050XXK
(1) 2100XXK
(1) 1500XXK
(1) 4050CXL, still trying to sell this one.

I tell you, it is a sickness.

Dcon, what are the specs (watts, ohms, power) on that 4050 cxl you are trying to sell. I may be interested.

Also, where did you find the 1500XXK for 300 shipped at? I may be interested in that kind of deal too.

I have a thread in here I am trying to get some help on.

If you go to www.arcaudio.com and look up amps, the 4050CXL has the same specs as the 4050XXK.

I bought the 1500XXK used from someone on one of the caraudio forums. It was a demo piece and looks brand new, at least by the pics it does. I had to jump on it. Finding a 1500 for less than $400 is almost impossible. There is a 1500CXL on ebay for I think $339 plus shipping. I bought a couple of amps from him. Good seller.

Brypink...Where am I going to put a 5150XXK, 1500XXK, 2050XXK and a 1,000 watt sub in my truck?

What are the footprints of those amps? Just off the top of my head (not knowing the dimensions) 2 on the back wall and one where the jack goes? Make a sub box for the single sub on the drivers side portion of the back seat?

I think I can squeeze a 9.0 and a 4.0 (same footprint size) on the large section behind the seat back. I would have to mount the 9.0 a little lower and make sure the 4.0 wouldn't hit the bar frame of the seat back. On the smaller portion side you can fit up to 15" in length (depending on the width of the amp). You can see in my gallery I had to rest top 350.2 on the selt belt bracket to clear the bar frame on the seat back.

EDIT: The 2050 on the smaller side and the 1500 and 5150 on the larger side. You will have to move and remount your power window motor like I did and put the black box (that's on the smaller side) in behind the back side molding like I did also.

I do not have my truck with me today and can look but, do you think there would be enough room on the center hump, between the console and rear seat to build a box for a 10". Something along the lines of a 10" IDMAX. Basically a floor console for the rear seats.

Didn't someone else do that here with a 12"? So, it would start behind your floor console (that's between you front seats) and end where? Between your right and left rear passengers seat? Or, in front of the rear seat bench? Do all '04-'06 SCrews have the same back seat?

If, it ends in front of the rear bench, it might be doable...but, it might be kinda tall. I'll be home tomorrow around 10am and I can look at it then. Heck, maybe even a 12" IDMAX will fit!

It would end in front or up against the rear bench seat? Using the 10" IDMAX dimensions, it could fire toward the side, in which case it would take probably 12" tall or it could fire up or down and it would only need to be 10" or so tall. I will have to take a look tonight when the wife gets home with it. If it would work, I could mount all 3 amps under the rear seats, I think.

That would work. I think I would fire it down, I think the down firing sounds a bit better.

Sorry Bartak. I have been wanting to jump on it for a while and just decided why not. I was surprised no one snatched it up sooner.

I did some quick checking last night and I think a box on the center hump, between the rear of the center console and the front of the rear seat is for sure doable. The height will be the biggest issue for me. My 22 month old sits in the center position and I will have to see where his feet dangle to. I think I might be able to get away with around 12" high. It seems .75-1.0 cube is very possible. And I really like the idea of putting 3 amps under the rear seats. The 2050 where the jack is, the 1500 on the center hump and the 5150 on the drivers side. I think that is today's plan anyway.
