well if you mount it there then you should run the power threw the fire wall...there should be a rubber gromit you can cut and stick it threw, then pull up the plactic moulding along the door jam, then you can just stick it in there, thn run it under the carpet and cut a hole under the seat and pull it threw there...
The grommet he is talking about is right behind the battery on the firewall. You can reach it from the inside of the truck if you take off the kick panel and take out the glove box. You can wiggle your arm around up there and feel where you pushed the wire through. I'll see if I can get some pictures later this weekend if youre not sure where I'm talking about.
Assuming Ford hasn't changed much since the 2000 model as far as grommets in the firewall...
There is a more accessable grommet on the driver side, although you will need to shield the wire from heat (Those little plastic wire covers you can get for computers or at pretty much any car parts shop will do nicely. This should be done anyways under the hood.) because it comes kinda close to the engine.
The advantage is that you can reach it from both sides without removing anything. It is behind the pedals just above the top of the carpet inside the cab on the driver side... from there you can remove a floor runner and do the same thing as described in the above posts.
There are pics in my gallery of my wiring if you are interested.

i ran the wire down the inner fender and up through the passanger side floor grommet. i bypassed the stock amp on the box and hooked up my alpine v12 and it sounded very good. it could only take about 1/4 of the gain. so im gonna order a new sub with some more power just have to figure out what will fit
