What amp?

I have a 01 Supercrew. I am getting Polk 5x7's in all four doors and a custom box that goes under the seat with a 10" sub in it. What would be the best amp to push all of the speakers without blowing the door speakers. Will I have to get a 5 channel amp?

or

Should I just get a HU to push the door speakers and buy a mono amp to power the sub?

Thanks

What model polk speakers, ideally you want atleast 80% of the reccomended continous power going to the speakers.

Optimal performance will be acheived when you have an amp that will match the rms rating of the speakers.

I perfer to have some head room. But, to answer your question...a good 5 channel amp will work well for you. Which one I'm not sure...I'm not familiar with the Polks and it also depends on the sub your talking about.

5 channel amps are great all in one solutions. I use the Arc Audio 5150XXK. I have the front and rear channels bridged to run my front components with around 150 watts each and my ED sub gets around 200 watts at 2 ohm. I use the Kenwood DDX7015 to power the rear speakers.

It really depends on how much you want to spend and how much power you need. Mine is more than enough for me but, I am an SQ listener and not crazy loud.
