Help with back seat!!!

I'm trying to mount a jl 500/5 to the firewall but we can't get the back seat off. Looks like little "L" hooks which we can unlatch on the driver and middle section but the passenger side won't budge.

Any suggestions?

Go to the f150 photo gallery section and search for 'rear seat removal'

Pictures will lead you through it.

There's a 2nd plastic hook just above the square metal ring sticking out between the seat and closest to the door. Give the rear seat a darn good upward yank and it should come out. Mine always gets stuck on that one.

Please let me know how that 500/5 fits. I'm looking at the same, but I haven't bought it yet. The 500/5 appears it might not fit down low between the seat post things on the floor for max airflow in my FX4 since the amp is almost 20" wide and the seat guide pieces are about 18" if I remember right. I should be able to fit a 300/4 and a 250/1 on opposite ends of the rear wall though...

From the looks of it, mounting the 500/5 above the seat guides means the upper heatsink part of the amp hits against the back of seat cushion on top and isn't very good for heat flow/air circulation.

Also I'd be interested in how you mount it to the back wall. A screw into the back wall goes right through to the outside between the cab and bed. I'd think rust will be a problem... There's an inside ledge that covers a wire harness back there and can potentially be used for a screw mount as long as the screw does eat into some of the harness wires and short something out.

BTW, any recommendations on where to get that JL for less-than-retail?

thanks
