Caps are not for solving dimming problems. Caps are for sound stiffening ( read SQ). I had an old school 500 wrms amp that listed it had .5 Farad capacitors built into the voltage rail to help increrase the dynamic headroom. It does help SQ if done right for the right reason. Some vehicles have an adequate electrical system where an external cap is not required.
