kenwood kac-6201

I just ordered my kenwood kac-6201 brand new off ebay and it came free with a 8 gauge amp kit. Well my problem is that on crutchfield they recommend a 10 gauge amp kit. I need to know if I can use the free 8 gauge or if im going to have to buy a 10 gauge? If anyone has this amp then what do you use?
thanks
ryan

You shouldn't have a problem with the 8 gauge. If you have some trouble connecting it to the amp, you probably can trim back some of the wiring and make it work.

Since the 8 gauge is a larger wire gauge than the 10 gauge, it will be better than recommended by crutchfield. I personally would never run less than 8 gauge to any amp and prefer at least 4 gauge.

I got another question concerning the placement of this amp. I have a 2000 f-150 single cab and I was thinking of mounting the amp on the back side of the seat. Does that sound like a good spot for it? Somewhere else possibly?
thanks

There isnt really a solid area for mount it on the back of the seat. Unless you can get all the screws in a brace.

Try on the back wall of the cab or even on your box.
