HELP! Desperate

Im trying to mount my amps under my front seat. Im stumped on the size of the torx bolts that are holding the seat down. Ive tried 10mm hex (too big), 8mm (too small) i guess they dont make a 9mm 'cause I havent found one. Ive tried 3/8" hex (too big) and I bought a set of torx but the biggest one is not big enough. What size am I looking for to take the seats out.

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2000 F150 4x4 ext. cab

I can't find the one I bought and used, but it was pretty big. T-55 or something. If you go to a smaller hardware store they will usually let you take a handful out and test them before you buy.

Just went outside and doubled checked....It is a T-55. I got mine at some autoparts store, but Sears has them too.

Thanks

Thanks Hazard I appreciate it!
The one I bought today was a T50 I believe. I couldnt find any bigger sizes than that. Now that I know the exact size I can call around.
Thanks again.

Yea it took me 3 tries too for me to get the right bit.

Also, let me add that I have an 02 ext. cab XLT with the captians chairs. The bolts for the back seat are a different torx bit (a good bit smaller).

With the right bits you have your truck looking like this in about 30 min (its scary how fast it can be gutted):

Thank you both

Thank you both for your help. Does the carpet just come right up.
No glue or anything involved?

Just pulls right up...

Nothing keeping it attached other than the seats and console.

Be careful gata, if you follow in the footsteps of Haz, you'll be psyched after gutting the inside, start removing the outer panels of the truck, it will be stripped down to the frame and sitting on cylinder blocks when you're done. By the time your adrenaline rush is over you will look around and ask yourself, (as well as all of your neighbors) "What the hell was I thinking?!"

Haha...

Just wait its going to kick back up the first few weeks of summer. Since I am changin things around I've gotta move some of that wire and make a nice amp rack and a baffle for the front of the seat. Also, I hope to get some work done on the kicks.

Hey, at last I am not at bad as talleywacker (he used to be a member here). He would take parts of his engine apart just to see what it looked like in the inside and took off his whole exhaust just to see how much it weighed....lol But, he knew his stuff when it came to the engine. Who knows maybe if I have some change over the summer I can do some of the "free" mods.

I checked out your tank on reeflounge. Nice looking tank. Where is it gonna be in your house? Are you going in-wall with it?
